BEGINNING FLAMENCO DANCE FOR ADULTS & TEENS

Excitement and Fun! Musicality and Expressive Freedom! Come learn the sinuous arm movements, rhythms, and footwork techniques that typify the flamenco dance style. Students learn the rhtyhms and movements of the traditional Sevillanas and Tangos and experience the rich mystery of flamenco expressivity by learning choreography based on a fundamental musical form, Soleares, revered as the mother of flamenco song.

Wednesdays 7-8pm at ZUZI! Dance Studio, 738 N. 5th Ave, The Historic Y Building at the corner of University Ave. & 5th Ave.

Tuition: $50/month

 

 

FLAMENCO DANCE FOR KIDS (9-14 yrs.)

This flamenco dance class introduces kids to all the basics of the flamenco dance technique: rhythmic footwork patterns, expressive arm movements, and full-bodied fun! High quality instruction in both technique and repertory increases each student's self-confidence and musical understanding. Students practice the basic rhythms of the Rumba Gitana and Tangos, and learn to dance the Sevillanas.

BEGINNING CASTANETS FOR ADULTS & TEENS

Develop your understanding of flamenco rhythms as you learn basic techniques for playing the castanets. We practice castanet playing with simple dance steps to integrate your learning and fully experience the remarkable art of flamenco.

FLAMENCO DANCE TECHNIQUE INTENSIVE

Get strong! Develop speed! Open to all who want more endurance, core strength, alignment, precision, expression, self-confidence, and musical understanding of this beautiful art form. Come increase your mastery of flamenco's rhythms, footwork patterns, braceo, vueltas, and marcaje.
